There's an ad doing the rounds on radio and TV made by the SABC, proudly proclaiming something along the lines of :  "90% of South Africans chose the SABC as their channel to watch the World Cup, thank you South Africa!".  In a related story, I'm pretty sure 90% of South Africans can't afford DSTV, so they didn't really have a choice did they? So what exactly are you thanking them for? Then again, an ad that said: "Thank you for watching SABC as you had no other alternative!" probably wouldn't have gone down well with the guys in charge, would it?
