The African sun retreated steadily as a caravan of land rovers carefully negotiated the transforming desert landscape. The occupants watched as the fading light replaced the familiar dunes of bronze and gold with a dusky world of moonscape resemblance. Then darkness became complete, in that sudden and almost imperceptible moment that is so easy to miss if one is intent on looking for it.

 “Where do creative ideas come from?” posed the jaded English professor to his class of first year students.

She is rising.

The size 6 jump suit fitted in all the wrong places. The spy shop had been out of size 12s and the shiny black Lycra now clung uncomfortably to her curvaceous frame.

The entomologist placed the insect in the small glass container she used for collecting her samples.

The artist stood back to admire his work. The painting was almost finished but was still missing a little something to make it complete. Yes, a bit more red over here he mused. He reached down to his easel absentmindedly only to find that his supply of red paint was nearing depletion. Whilst a bit annoyed that his creative process would now be interrupted, he did not really mind having to go out to get some more: obtaining the perfect picture was of utmost importance and he would do whatever it took to achieve that result.
