Yo

I know it's half past February and I haven't posted a blog yet...but it seems I am already three months behind at work. So here are a few comments on some things that have been happening.

Egypt and the Pyramids:

It is quite clear that the people living in Egypt today are NOT the descendants of the amazing folk who built the pyramids. While it is an amazing country, it is mostly because of what people did there thousands of years ago, and in spite of the modern day residents. So I got a thinking why this may be....it seems that every time there was a regime change, the ruling dynasty was killed off,  Every 100 years or so the smartest and strongest people were removed from the gene pool. This process of stupification has gone on for more than 3000 years resulting in the genius that is the modern Gyppo. See picture for clarification.

Which made me think of this....

But that's another story.
Something else that is worth mentioning is the awesome new toll fees we will be paying in Gauteng. And with "we" I mean the people who are already subsidising electricity, water and schools for the not working masses, and the working but uneducated masses. It seems the worst downside of apartheid turned out to be the fact that members of parlamaint never heard the fairy tale of slaugtering the swan who lays golden eggs.

Lets hope the Rugby and Cricket world cups keep us bussy enough to ignore all the other crap, lest we go mad.

I came accross this idea after seeing a funny picture from Google search autocomplete. Aparetly afrikaans people have problems with the "how to" of sex. I am not even going to get into the sequence of search terms, naai, bid hekel (??) and briliantly at nr 4 biltong, nice.

YOur World News according to Google

It is often quite fun to have a look at Google's top search terms for a certain period. It can tell you a lot of what is going on in the world and also, how people think and react to that.

For instance in South Africa at the moment Eid Mubarak came up, google it, it's a Muslim festival greeting meaning "blessed festival" as in merry Christmas. If had the good fortune to see venus underneath the crescent moon a few days ago you would have realised that something Islamac had to be going on. If you look at world wide searches though, you would also see Rosh Hashanah, this is the Jewish new year and means "head of the year". Ke Nako, feel it, it is now. So the two major monotheistic religions of the world both have a big festival about now.

What is interesting is that South Africans muslims are either more serious than the Jews, or they are more than the Jews in SA. On the other hand, it may also mean that Muslims have to google their own religion to find what it's all about, while Jews already know and don't have to Google it? I don't know which one....what I do wonder about though, while Kudu horns are very cool blowing instrument, would Vuvuzellas be OK?
YOu would also notice that Wayne Rooney is in the search hitlist for his alleged overpaying of allegedly overcharging prostitute, Jennifer Thomson. Rooney is in the search top ten, and she is in the image-search top 10. So basically, people want to know if Rooney has been riped of, what does a $1800 a nigh hooker look like? Well, turns out, she is not that pretty. The love Guv, Eliot Spitzer got better value for his money in my oppinion. All this just proves what people say "If you see a pretty girl on the tube in London, you may as well speak afrikaans to her". ..but that is just what the people say.

Spitzers overpriced hooker......                       Wayne Rooneys Overpriced Hooker.......

" Don't pass to me, I lost my contacts before the world Cup already"

Rooney can only hope he gets half as cool a nickname as "LoveGuv" from this, Randy Rooney sounds a little cartoonish if you ask me.

What I still find amazing is how LAZY and computer illiterate South Africans is. The top 2 search terms since 2004 for South Africa.........Facebook Login and Gmail Login. So first you find The Google, then you find the internets, and then you type in Facebook, then you log in. WOW, MyDL, we have lots of work ahead of us.....

BuckyBall Birthday

Saaay Whaat?

In this month, where we remember the terrorist attacks of September 11, it is notable that there are some other significant things to remember. For one it is the last month that South African bloggers will be able to give their opinion, the Gestapo like deletion of accounts on neigboring blog communities have already begun. See my posts on "black Power"

Anyway, it is also the 25 th birthday of the BuckyBall. This is the nickname given to the first Carbon Sphere. It marked a significant milestone in the development of nano technology. It was named after the Geodome in Canada which was designed by a dude named  Richard Buckminster Fuller, so this new area of carbon was caled Buckminsterfullerene.
What I find totally shocking is this:
Who the hell names their child Buckminster?

Black Power Information Act

In the light of the communist like Nazi laws the ANC are trying to impose on our media, I believe we need a different approach. What can you as a normal blogger do?

What I suggest is using places like Afrigator to get the support of other African bloggers. There are some pretty good blogs in places like Nigeria and Zambia. I think if all of us go and visit some African blogs, get them to come to ours and read about this rediculous law. The ANC won't listen to those white tendencies coming from the USA and Europe. We need black power on this one. Viva freedom of speech! (but lets try and keep it smart, tidy and inteligent, get the african intelectual involved in this)
