Sardines leaving Kwa-Zulu Natal after their annual pilgrimage left with only positive things to say about South Africa's Sunshine Province. Glenn Ryck, spokesfish for the schools of sardines visiting Durban this year said: “Every year we make our annual pilgrimage to these shores to say hallo to men in short pants and floppy hats with the Toyota bakkies and Corrolla 1600s and their plastic crates and ice cream bakkies and share some of what we have learnt. This year was no different. We found South Africans of all backgrounds and colours on the shores of the beach ready to welcome us into their containers, hats, shirts and skirts and homes.”
