The American national Internet strike# protesting two bills under consideration in the U.S. Congress, H.R.3261 (the “Stop Online Piracy Act”, or SOPA) and S.968 (“Protect IP Act”, or PIPA).

Every day I excitedly counted the hours until the stroke of midnight, knowing that I would be hearing his soothing voice again. Even if the reception was marred by irritating static, the crackle could not disguise the loveliness of his voice, infused as it was with warmth, kindness and, often, mischievously tinkling with humour.

I thought I was rid of Windows forever. Unfortunately not. A recent flooding of my flat resulted in my laptop being damaged and having to be sent in. The insurance company phoned me and told me that my computer was beyond repair and that I needed a new one.

Andy Warhol started it with his statement "In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes." We can see some of the truth of it in the reality shows 'Idols', 'America's got talent' (huh??), etc.

My father-in-law knows about technology, but what he knows
about technology is a little old, and the times, they are a changing, and very
fast I must say as well.

Well this will be my first blog, and I am just typing this
for the fun of it and how technology changed my life and what it helped me with
the past few years.
