I was all set to use the LG KU990 to record a video of a media briefing today. I spent the weekend playing with the phone; went to the park with the kids and took mountains of digital images. I also interviewed with them for practice.
So I was pretty sure I had the photography thing down pat. But a few minutes before going into the briefing, I accidentally turned the phone off and struggled to turn it on again. So no recorded video interview, no pictures from the media briefing taken by me….yet.
But I can see the phone's potential as a tool for online journalists and bloggers to develop rich multimedia. That said, the most frustrating part of using the phone for me is getting the basics right. So far, I’m having difficulty writing on the touch-screen with my finger. Somehow the letters I write don’t gel into the words I’m trying to create, and I haven’t even figured out how to delete a word as a go along. So I havane't even written one complete text message.
I also struggle searching for contacts function. I think the fact that I don't know how to write complete letters might have something to do with it. Also, I’m used to a phone where, if I press the OK button, a call is placed to the last number that was called/that rang. That doesn’t seem to be the case with this phone.
I'm still happy with the phone though, and reckon I'll have a great time with the phone once I'm over these small bumps.
