To Vista or not to Vista? or perhaps something different? Ubuntu 7.04 desktop edition includes a ground-breaking Windows migration assistant, excellent wireless networking support and improved multimedia support.
We are using 6.1 Edgy Eft ( released in October 2006 ) ... So far it looks good ( this is from orthodox Windows user ). Few minor issues with WINE ( windows emulator which is not windows emulator ) some stuff is working some not ( which is to be expected ) ... However, machine is stable, and we'll try to make best of it.
Ubuntu is here to stay ( no lack of commintment on Canonical side, quite oposite ... ) therefore we'll continue our migration jurney wrom Windoze2Linux ...

I've had a go at it - awesome stuff! The migration tool is great, and I'm sure it may prove to be powerful bate to entice hesitant M$ users. It's super fast and simple to carry over your user profiles as well as automatically set up your partitions . As for wireless, 3G datacard = plug and play. All in all, the only thing Edgy about 7.04 is the uneasy concern of unemployment from future thinking M$ execs.
