Dissol

Back home, after hopefully the last operation for a while...  It is very odd spending so much time in different hospitals, and undergoing different procedures.  Anyone that has undergone general anesthetic can tell you how odd, and unnatural it is.  When you sleep normally, you are subconciously aware of the passage of time, but when you are chemically knocked out, that appears to be missing...you "loose" a couple of hours.  Have a few surgeries close together, and it becomes worse - your system has not cleared out all the chemicals from the last time...and so you tend to drop deeper into unconciousness.  One wonders if this is how coma patients experience things too?

But again, I am completely floored by the understanding and care given by medical personnel.  They work long, long, hours, often with difficult patients, and unpleasant tasks, and yet they do so without complaint, and such individual attention...

But as I rolled out of the hospital, into the wonderful Cape Town sunshine, suddenly life began to come back to me.  I still have a few weeks of recuperation ahead of me, and will be the target for my physioterrorist for a while.  Seeing people around me with far worse conditions is also humbling.

It also looks like my new company car may arrive just in time for when I am able to drive again!  And one of my first trips is going to have to be the Cape Town, Jo'burg run!!  Good way to run the car in!!
