American legislation threatening internet freedom

The American national Internet strike# protesting two bills under consideration in the U.S. Congress, H.R.3261 (the “Stop Online Piracy Act”, or SOPA) and S.968 (“Protect IP Act”, or PIPA).

In response many american websites are being blacked out to protest the proposed US legislation that threatens internet freedom: the Stop Internet Piracy Act.

Personal blogs to Wikipedia, all types of american sites all over the web — are asking you to help stop this dangerous legislation from being passed.

I do believe that it is all a show of power...by both sides.

But Pres Obama did veto the bills making them nul and void. The whole process as to be re-negotiated.

18 senators backed off from the bill, 4.5 million people signed a petition, and anyone who used the internet yesterday for more than five seconds is now well aware of what SOPA is and how to stop it.
