Again, Seacom tempts me to punch them.Posted by: phANT1m on May 04, 2010 |
I know it has been awhile since I put a post ehre but I am juggling 2 blogs so it can be tricky at times. Found sometime to post between my Starcraft 2 addiction and articles.
So connected to battle.net and was watching a replay (luckily) when the internet went down, I thought this was wierd as I know my internet connection on a whole is pretty solid. So hopping onto IRC seems friends also experiencing similar problems. We do our research and seems that the Seacom primary and secondary cables have both been in problems again. Meaning no international access for most of the day (thanks to the hard working people out there), thankfully around days end it came to and end or more rather started up again.
But that was just the front story, back end was that I was supposed to actually make time to sit down and do a hands-on off Frozen Synapse which is in closed beta and needs an internet connection. So no work and no play resulting in a mostly dull day except for some TV series.
I just wish that everyone would make sure that things are smoothly running and if not smoothly at least have a backup plan that works and is not going to fail.

I noticed a 25% drop in traffic to myDL yesterday alone. That is a lot considering that about 75% of our traffic is coming from SA alone.
