Analog and D+Pad

Posted by Drucilla in Untagged

Drucilla

Analog and D+Pad is an exciting new Ctrl+Alt+Del project. It's a full-length comic book featuring the characters you know and love in an "alternate universe" of sorts, where Ethan and Lucas are gaming super-heroes. Here's a six-page preview of the very first issue of Analog and D+Pad!

i did not just wake up and become more original this morning! no i just realised that Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.- this definitely includes me.

Feeling Zen

Posted by Dutch Courage in Untagged

Dutch Courage

Well i had a pretty good weekend. Had a girls nite out on friday, didn't get too horribly drunk even with the free shooters the barman was pouring us! I worked on Saturday nite, it was fairly busy so i made some decent money, course i had to spend it one Sunday and bought myself a new pair of shoes. I also had brunch with a friend, went to the gym, and did minimal chores. The only 'downer' was that i had to get up at the crack of dawn to get to home affairs. After waiting in the queue for over an hour i  was told my passport was not ready - brilliant. They say 6-8 wks, it's been just over 8 wks. I mentioned that it was impossible to get through when i dialed the numbers i'd been given, the lady gave me two more numbers to try and this morning they are also engaged!

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Life... is like a grapefruit. It's orange and squishy, and has a few pips in it, and some folks have half a one for breakfast. but you must always understand the theories of life! like There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

It’s a 13 track cd, it elevates from deeper to harder hitting House Disco beats. Young or old, this Album is bound to get your feet moving, The key tracks that makes this album are, the track title, "Mafikeng Bliss" this track is a fusion of orchestra instruments, Jazz, Disco & House. But the blending of all instruments makes this track a floor heating tune,

Then "Lovely Days" is the follow up to the Soulful House tune site of the Cd, Another 2 tracks that bridges the Cd are "Love me back" which converts the Cd to Tech house and "Feel the Beat" which gives it the Disco feel.

Currently "Lovely Days" and Mafikeng Bliss" are the Driving force tracks behind the Cd, receiving Radio airplay countrywide, and Internet marketing has been driven by these 2 tracks.

4 tracks are available on Vinyl EP. DJ Webster is bringing the new genre to South Africa, this Cd is just a 1 bar of more music notes to come to South Africa. The Marketing for the Cd has gone to a totally different level, DJ Webster Records provide Online Mp3 playability of this tracks short clips available on DJ Webster's Website to give people an idea of what to expect, Currently touring South Africa promoting the Cd demand is the the idea behind the CD market.

Theme parties aren't dead!

Posted by PattiLain in Untagged

PattiLain
Friday night, around about 21:00, my fiancé's friend phones him to ask whether or not he's coming to the party tomorrow.

I'm sorry, what?

We were told the party was NEXT weekend.

So we're are told noooo. The party is in fact this Saturday. Oh, and it's dress up.

Huh?

I haven't been to a dress-up party since childhood.

The theme? Anything starting with a J. Why J? No one knows.

I was wracking my brain. What decent costumes can we come up with in less than 24 hours? We bought jelly. We made jelly shooters (my fourth attempt). So... Jelly Shooter Bearers we shall be!

Until I got the manic inspiration on Saturday morning. Why not go as the goddess herself, Janis Joplin? And due to my fiancé's curls and love of guitar he can be... Jimi Hendrix!

The hard part? Finding appropriate clothes. I was going to wear my Janis Joplin t-shirt and hope that no one realises the irony of Janis wearing a shirt of herself. So we spent most of the morning looking for beads and a headscarf.

We managed decent, though not entirely faithful, costumes. Christiaan was a very bland and colourless Jimi, and my Janis could have been better.

But off we were! Jelly shooters in hand, ready to record the madness of the J party.

As a handful of us waited for the remaining guests (another handful, it wasn't a big party), we managed to giggle and curse our way through the first half of the gelatinous alcohol (my ultimate undoing).

The remaining guests arrived and I accosted each with "What are you?" instead of a "how are you?"

There were a few imaginative ones (Jack & Jill), a few confusing ones (Jungle Oats representative?) and a pair of happy and well-fed junkies.

What would you have gone as?
