In my previous post I mentioned that Steve Jobs opened a can of worms when taking on other smartphone manufacturers when covering up the signal problem of the iPhone4.

Well Motorola isn't taking it lying down.

2D or 3D and cellphone booking

Sunday we decided to take the kids to see the latest Shrek movie at Nu Metro in Menlyn.

Yes, we are looking to win the Parents of the Year Competition. Our strategy to win is clear, sit and watch a crappy movie and hope that the kids do not notice how bored you are.

I hate standing in line to buy tickets and I hate standing in line to buy popcorn. I am very happy to watch a movie at home on my own big screen, but for the kids this is an experience.

While we were busy looking at the times of the shows on their website we noticed the option to book and pay for the tickets online. Now keep in mind that I haven’t gone to a cinema in years. This is probably old technology for Nu Metro, but I was impressed with it.

BlackBerry for Rock Stars

My personal BlackBerry is the Curve 8520 model. Currently I am reviewing the BlackBerry Bold 9700 aka the Bold 2. With both of them equipped with the new track pad instead of the track ball we have seen on previous models, the biggest difference for me is the key pads.

AntennaGate and the golden rule

antennagate I think Steve Jobs must be kicking himself for the approach he has chosen to defend the “scandal” of the iPhone 4 antennas cutting out when you hold your cellphone in the left of right hand.  To be honest I have no idea in which hand the problem occurs, I don’t care and neither should you.

How HITS work on myDL

I have received a lot of messages, and now I see some blogs about the topics, on why there are differences in the amount of hits on the blog and stats tab.

I am going to explain this once again and then create a posting in the support forum which will be linked to this blog, basically since I cannot remember what I called the previous blog explaining this :).

We don’t wear orange underwear… Dave

I am simply amazed with the reports of the Dutch supporters being escorted out of Soccer City because they wore orange mini-skirts.

orangedress

In summary, the girls wore orange mini-skirts which they received in promotional beer packs sold by Bavaria Beer. The skirts do not contain any branding and orange is the colors of both the Dutch soccer team as well as the supporters.

FIFA sees this as ambush marketing and removed the women from the stadium.

This is bloody ridiculous. Please fans, do not blame South Africa for this. We are not currently in control of our country because we signed that over to FIFA a few years ago.
