The digital world is not so different from the "nommer asseblief" days. This happened to me yesterday... A message appears on my mobile: "C ur phone went crazy again i miss u and i love u" from an 072 number that I do not recognise. Now, I've been married 30 years and while there are a couple of people that I would not mind receiving such an affectionate message from, I do have their numbers stored and this is not from either! However, you never know your luck, so I respond (looking for a clue) "Where are you?". No clue in the reply: "why". So, I ask, "Is it a secret?" Next reply: "No i am at work". While I am thinking what to ask next, another message arrives: "Whr r u". Time to confess, so I send this: "At work, wondering who I know luvs & misses me, also works and has a number not in my phone book. Maybe I'm getting old." There's a definite note of alarm in the next SMS: "who r um i am (name omitted to save blushes)" . Ah well, found out - so I say "Hi, I am Eisch, pleased to meet you :-)". But not my lucky day, after all - she has not replied since...
