Spending so much of my time in front of the computer (3 hour daily lectures, varsity work and general gaming), eye fatigue and migraines became a problem which could only be alleviated by resting.

But now there's another option: Gunnar Optiks Eyewear.

I have a habit of going down a rabbit hole when it comes to surfing the web.

I went from listening to the Sweeney Todd soundtrack, to Roman Polanski's rape trial and somehow ended up on Jezebel.com, a (feminist news and media website which highlights issues in new media).

Anyone who has watched crime series will know that facial recognition is used my law enforcement, but the technology is quickly making its way into our own lives.

As much as I love tech and blogging, I recently had a conversation with my lecturer wondering where I could go as a new media journalist and actually use all my skills and follow my interests.

So often digital journalism relates to IT-related topics or tech watch. But why do I, someone who loves tech and gaming, not want to commit myself to writing about these?

While this post's first entry isn't about a tech gadget itself, the product's creation is a result of technology.

Enter Candy Bricks - bricks you can use to create things the same way as with LEGO - except that these can be eaten too.

Everyone knows that university is far removed from the 'real world', and that once we hit the job market things are going to be very different.

I got to experience something inbetween - working for CueOnline during the National Arts Festival. The result - journalists gone insane...but on the bright side - they are more experienced.

Now we know that we are nowhere near crafting artificial intelligence like C3P0 and R2D2 to help us save the galaxy from the Empire, but I know that scientists have created some mechanical marvels already.

Robots are no longer confined to the realm of many-a-geeks' fantasies, but rather they are fast becoming essential tools in the world of technological development.

MMORPG's often fail to fully impress me - they either seem to be the same worn-out story over and over again or they lack  any new innovations  which would set them apart from apart from other MMO's.

The Secret World, however, did impress me. It's very different from other MMORPG's I've played, but still has many of the benefits which come along with playing these games.

We’re flooded with new technological innovations, many of them advertising the way that they ‘change the game’ – but real technological innovations are those which actually change lives.

Assistive technology does this. This type of technology refers to equipment and devices which is assistive, adaptive or rehabilitative for people with disabilities.

It arrived. The game I longer for. The game I had developed slightly sexual feelings for (jk...ok not). The game to complete the trilogy: Mass Effect 3. I finished it in four days.

And then the bitch broke my heart.
