The digital bug has bitten my circle of friends and the virus is spreading daily . I am lovin the way this virus is spreading and how my friends are embracing this digital virus . We now have everyone on Blackberry BBM, 2 iPads, 2 Samsung Tablets and a netbook . All this change has taken place within a few weeks. Everyone is so  keen to learn and be apart of the new techno age ! spread virus spread I am loving it. In a funny chat over tea we were discussing how if one of us became Head of our company we would issuse alll staff with tablets and laptops. The boardroom wouldhave a projector screen to watch series. Staff would be issused wih Terabite hard drives and be required to watchone hour per day at work of a series. The campus would also have a wireless internet connection with uncapped usage for downloads. AHHH the perfect work environment :) The bug is defo infecting at rapid speed  everyone is getting infected but loving their digital infection

Last Friday was another day that Technology amazed me.  AS part of a departmental team building we attended the GOod Food and Wine show.  As a keen foodie I was very excited to see some of my favourite chefs in action.   Part of my dig addiction includes the use of Twitter on a regular basis. Often i Tweet with the lovely chef Jenny Morris so meeting her or even watching her cook up a storm would have been a treat. I found myself introducing myself to Jenny as my Twitter handle of @verushka143 which she immediately knew and hugged me. It was so amazing to meet a celebrity of Twitter. Jenny reminded us to catch her show where she proudky told everyone how she and I Tweet and reffered to me as a Twit which now my friends affectionally call me. Jenny Morris  signed her latest book vor me which made me feel very special indeed. Later on my lovely Twitter friend arranged an amazing  surprise for me  which was a gorgeous signed recipe book from another great chef.Indeed my friends were all green eyed monsters but impresssed with my Twitter contacts. So yes my I love all the contacts I have made via various social networks.YES I AM ADDICTTED AND YES I AM CONNECTED!

Thank you.......

Its with  sadness  I bid farewell to yet another friend in my life. Though my friendship with MYDL was shortlived, it is said that sometimes the briefest affairs leave the most impact in our lives.

Online shopping has become the latest addiction of us lovely ladies. Earlier this week at work a friend who is been introduced to the digital age made her first online purchase. She was totally over the moon with how easy it was to do this transaction. And the other interesting thing was she purchased and Ebook , i was so totally amazed at how my friend is taking to the digital age like a duck to water. So it seems our lil digital club at work is slowly growing with more  having Blackberrys , Samsung Tablets and Netbooks. It makes me feel like a proud mum moment seeing how fast the girls at work are keeping up with technology.

We all have a go to guy/girl who knows everything. In my case my go to guy is my ever faithful GOOGLE. I often think how lost i would be without this amazing go to guy. There is rarely a day that doesnt go by without me consulting my go to guy.In our BC(before computer) days one had to use Encyclopedias and spend ages in public libraries finding information which was already outdated. Nowdays at the quick type in of a word or a sentence once can instantly access a million options of information on the specified word this also includes images and maps. I recall a rather funny incident abut 4 years ago in London when i was apart of a recruitment panel for a new person in our department . We went the usual routes of job ads in the newspapers, internet ad and recruitment agencies. After viewing several candidates both on paper and in person none were suitable. Then by pure  chance a CV landed on my table  from an agency with only client name no personal details Voila at last someone who looked suitable on paper, a quick call resulted in agency saying the person hadnt met with them yet and they couldnt forward details to us . Thats when clever me decided to Google the guy found his current employer then consulted the team and made a call to him.The guy was rather surprised how i found him but never the less an appointment was set up . Within the next few days I became a detective called around found out information about our candidate and was prepared for when he met us. It seems these days more companies are trolling the internet for information on potential staff.I personally have used Google for so many different searches  and yes have even Googled guys I have met. SO i would be truly lost without my ever faithful guy GOOGLE and like a friend said yesterday Google has now become a verb . Ciao for now my fellow digital lovers ......ps I wonder how many people after reading this will go Google me or someone else ;)

Listening to Kelly Clarkson earler this week prompted the inspiration of this blog.So  i thought about it and realised how much my life would suck without technology. Am sure all of you who have read my blogs know about my digital addiction.Indeed i would be truly lost and my life would suck without the access to technology. My handbag is a testimony to my addiction external harddrive, memory sticks and now a recent addition of a fully charged spare Blackberry battery.I kid you not i am so afraid of not been connected to the world and missing out on something.Lucky for me my friends are also very smitten with age of technology, one who recently celebrated her birthday said she would be so upset if hubby bought her jewllery when all she wanted was a new external hardrive. See guys yes we do love sparkly gifts  but we are also considering digital gifts now . HI everybody my name is Verushka and yes i am addicted to the digital era.I cannot live without my phone and internet access.I did go cold turkey twice but the side effects were terrible mood swings, depression, anger, withdrawl from others are just a few of the symptoms i experienced.Though an addiction is meant to be bad i love mine and cant seem to get enough of this digital drug.ciao for now my digital addicts and in the words of Kelly Clarkson my life would  suck without you

My first time I came to stumble upon an iPhone I had such mixed feelings. I clearly recall been very adament that I didnt want a touch screen phone . My upgrade was overdue on my cellphone contract and I had to make a choice of a new phone when given the option of the iPhone 2G I was not very impressed as very simple functions were not available , I was told by the attentive assistants to take the phone as new software was been developed all the time .

I have a passionate love affair with books. Walking into a bookshop is my kind of Heaven. One of my dreams in life is to open a bookshop with an attached coffeeshop. The greatest gift I could be given is a book. From a very young age both my parents encouraged reading and always bought us books as kids. I often dream of having a library or a reading room in my own home filled with books I have collected over time, my own little Shangrila.

This year has been the most emotional year of my life . Losing my Dad on New Years morning was such a tremendous loss to my family , we are still coming to terms with this tragedy . On Sunday 1st July  another heart breaking tragedy occured in my family with my 16year old cousin in London committing suicide . I feel as if another part of my heart has died. There are no words to describe the feeling of the heart . I found this quote which sums up what i feel " Tears are the words the heart can not express".
