Facebook, on Tuesday, has released a new plugin for all WordPress bloggers that operates in two ways: working with WordPress via Facebook; and sharing your WordPress content on Facebook via WordPress. Pretty convenient isn't it?
The plugin is made up of a number of new and useful options, some of which include an Activity Feed Box widget that allows Wordpress bloggers to view the activity on their website by their friends on Facebook; the mention of Facebook friends and pages that appear on their Timeline as well; Facebook comments that include full SEO; and posting to the blogger's Timeline as soon as they publish a post on Wordpress.
Interested in installing this plugin? I've come across an easy breakdown of what to do and how on socialmouths.
Happy blogging!
Thanks Saajida. I'm a longtime WP fan (can you believe since 2004)I have had several WP sites over the years and have watvched it grow froma simple blogging tool to a easy-to-use CM. I have two blogs (or maybe 3 or 4)up at the moment and the one I post manually to Facebook so thanks for the heads up.
@redsaid - I'm also not too fond of the self-promotion. hence I don't really promote my blog on facebook. but for those wordpress bloggers who are avid facebookers, I think this plugin is awesome.
@muscadecipio - wow, impressive! I've only been blogging on wordpress since earlier this year. I used to blog with blogspot. I must admit, I find WP way better.
Nice one!
The Socialmouth article says that you will be able to reference Facebook pages and your Facebook friends in your posts. Does this mean that the blog will then end up in their timelines/pages too in the same way that tags do? Probably, hey?
I don't have a WordPress blog, so I have to promote my blog posts the "old-fashioned" way, by copying and pasting the link onto FB. I'm always a bit worried that others will find such self-promotion irritating. Personally, I like it when my blogging Facebook friends link to their own posts, because it has led me to discover loads of new and fabulous blogs and bloggers.
