Now that I'm in line for an upgrade, the decision of what phone to get next comes up. Of course a smartphone is the category I'm looking in, but we really are spoilt for choice right now. And just look at what's coming later this year!

Naturally, I did look at the iPhone 4S. Why? Well, its just amazing isn't it? And Siri, well she's my idea of the perfect girl. Just ask for a simple favour and she does it, no questions asked. And sending a message to another girl, no problem, Siri will gladly do it for you! But I find myself straying away from the Apple scene, purely because quite a few aspects of the devices are outdated.

The first thing that put me off to be honest was the camera. An 8 mega-pixel camera, no matter how bumped-up, can never be as good as lets say a 12 mega-pixel camera. I currently own the Sony Ericsson Satio and I have to admit, it is a serious contender when looking at the best camera phones around. This was obviously one of the selling points for me when I found out that the Sony Xperia S, coming later this year, would feature a 12MP camera as well as on of the best screens around boasting an impressive 342 ppi (pixels per inch). The screen size also dwarfs that of the 4S', coming out with a large 4.3" screen as opposed to the 3.5" on the iPhone. All of this combines to produce crystal clear sharp pictures on the Sony.

A lot of people have criticised the Xperia S for not being able to expand memory but neither can the iPhone from what I know. The Sony will come out with a 32GB memory storage capacity and having an 8GB storage card on my Satio, of which I haven't even used half of, 32GB is enough to lick my chops about. The Xperia S also has double the RAM of the iPhone and more processing capability. Finally, the perfect marriage in my mind of Android and Sony has come together and I feel this is all Sony needed to demolish their competition. My Satio for example, if it had Android, would have been that much better,

In a purely aesthetic sense, the Xperia S just outdoes the iPhone by miles, taking class to a new level whilst the iPhone 4S looks like the 3 and indeed all the other iPhones before it. All I can say is that Apple really need to produce an amazing peice of technology in the iPhone 5 to blow me away if its going to make me pick it over the Sony Xperia S. For now though, it looks like I'll be remaining a Sony man!

bad apples!

with Nokia running Windows and the others on Android, there will be a big collaboration between everyone thats not Apple! Though we will always have our detractors or bad apples, methinks that this makes for a winning formula for me the consumer! BTW - i have been a fan of Experia since the very first model.

The Collaboration

It will be good to see everyone give Apple a run for their money because then they have a reason to perform even more. Yeah, the first Xperia models were dope! The X10 was incredible
