Really, rubybox?

I’ve been greatly disappointed in rubybox – you only need to read my previous box-related posts to know. After another unauthorised debit at the end of February (which finally was refunded today), I received a box, which I was asked to keep for all the trouble I’ve been through. And well, I can honestly say not subscribing to them has not made my life any worse.

Rattling around at the bottom of a box void of any packaging other than a scrunch of tissue paper, there was:
* A little pot of Bee Natural Rich Hydrating Face Balm (resembling Vaseline more than anything else, and at R89.90 for 30ml anything but luxury – rubybox’s claim to fame)
* Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lash Extending Treatment Mascara (nice to keep in your handbag)
* Prada Infusion d’Iris (perfume samples are my bane)
* Incoco Dry Nail Appliqué (I’d have liked this if it weren’t in a metallic shade of cougar pink)
* 25% discount voucher at Zando (love their stuff, but even at discount it’s completely outside my price range)

I gave almost everything in the box away. I could not believe that rubybox thought that box was worth the R100 and the expectation their subscribers have every month. I can’t seem to find much feedback on their Facebook page, but I’m sure that even die-hard fans of theirs are a bit disappointed what this month offers.

Their limited edition collection looks great, but I can really not be compelled to spend money on it – the risk of another rattling disappointment is too great.

I hear you!

You know, I actually cancelled my subscription after receiving this box, it's just not worth it. I had already paid for the April box at the time, and what would you know, it's the first time I have ever received a full-size product - Piz Buin sunblock. I have now signed up with Glam Box, it seems they have better products!

Glam a better option

GlamBox is definitely a better choice. Charmed is a big fan of theirs. I absolutely love GlossyBox. Sure it's R30 more, but so far I've found it completely worth it. But ja, anything's better than ruby...

Not an advertising service

I take it you're the overzealous intern. Using public forums to punt your product, especially on other people's blogs, won't endear you to anyone.

GLAM VS GLOSSY

So I subscribe to Glambox and so far I am pretty happy but I would like to know what kind of samples and the sizes that Glossybox have? Glambox is just must clearer on what you get. Thanks Ladies

It's all about the surprise

Yes, the other sites generally gives an idea of what you can expect in your box, but Glossy keeps it all under wraps until you have received your box.
The April GlossyBox had a full-size (two applications) of Eye Majic, which I've been struggling to find forever, so I was quite excited about that. There was also some nice sized (ideal for travel) skin care products, and the item I liked best was the jewellery item from 4Flavour (I got a ring). The box also had a R200 discount voucher for Zando.

I don't mind the extra R30, so far it has been completely worth it for me. But both Glam and Glossy are MILES better than ruby.
