not Doolally, but Dissol.
I note, and share your concerns, and it relates to some work I am involved with overseas (which we hope one day to bring to SA). I share your view on firearms; I actually think that even most licensed firearms increase the problems, not decrease them in any way.
Together with some others, we are trying to put together a quite specific training course, aimed at some of the most vulnerable sections of society (initially people with disabilities, who are 7 times more likely to be the victims of violent crime, but this could be extended to other sections). The aim is to empower people in a variety of ways, most of it is how to avoid being a target and how to assess potentially dangerous situations...then methods that may be used to diffuse a dangerous situation, and if both those fail, to teach some basic (but adapted) martial arts moves, in order to protect / defend themselves - we have some interesting resources to use (ex special forces, black belt martial arts specialists, police advisors, along with some clever OT\'s). Just out of curiosity, would you rather spend some money on a course like this, or spend money on a stun gun (or both?!). Basically, I would be interested to know if people are interested in this type of approach.
Of course, I could be barking up completely the wrong tree, and this is the wrong forum for these sorts of questions...
OS; I\'ll put a separate post up, but the course would not just be self defence, the ideal is to avoid any conflict before any physical action needs to be taken. Situational awareness, positioning, legal implications, etc. But would you be willing to pay (a decent) price for such lessons?
OS btw...
you mean he atempted to brake the window, failed and then just walked off while you and everyone who had noticed the incident watched?
I\'d have got out of my car and chased him...
Get that stun gun, som efo them have a good 40m traveling distance in them, so you can jump out the car and stun his ass, I bet he WON\'T expect that!
