Imagine being able to power your appliances just byclosing your curtains. According to CNN.com this may soon be a possibility.
The curtains are made from a tin photovoltaic battery which produce enough power to give light or power small aplliances through a series of rechargable batteries, the power of which can be transferred into a larger battery.
If this is a cheaper solution to soft power, I'd probably end up with a curtained Greenhouse for a home, which I personally think wold be awesome but would probably scare a few people.

Parting thought: I reckon we could have super solar curtains in SA(exceprt in Cape winters). I'd invest in a name like that

But the Cape can substitute the curtains for windmills for the winter time
