Trial & Error?
What I noticed recently, by trial and error...
A system can be pushed that much but in the end its either that a few examples are made or that a warning is issued to first-time offenders.
Terms of service and user agreements are well-ignored by most because frankly I don't care to read the fine print when jumping at what a service initially boasts to offer. That's either my loss or gain.
Following trends seems to be in the nature of bloggers at MyDL recently. A hot topic is not to be missed it seems. Exploiting the subject with your own personal opinions is the way to go but censorship is a must. Without authority, there'd be way stricter systems that would give you auto-bans for the slightest of ignorance.
I agree with Hlakile that this is MyDigitalLife... but it seems that the influence rubbed onto me, as goes with public and their swaying opinions. Not to say that I'm a sheep... but my blogging style is not that of any writing style or major qualification that expects me to exclude any crucial issue of life. ie sex. That also means that there is 2 major differences between me and some of you. I opted to become a paid author in order to add to the quality of the site and not my sex-life. having went the obscene way was rather sheepish. I could happily amend my story because its as flexible as a thought! ;)
I also initially agreed with Shiny and Liquid's argument that such a flaw existed and we were not fore-warned but Townboy cleared it up and gave us an extension. So... a lesson learnt by us all!
Sometimes we have to remember the rules or better yet... have a guidebook jam-packed with rules like those of Dungeons & Dragons... for us to become ideal citizens of this ever-changing maze. MyDL changes everyday, we influence the change. So let's think wiser and grow as the close-knit community I initially joined... because some of the new members are following the trend of non-digital creative writing.
Some blogs I've read and trusted to be in order of the MyDL way are those of:
OnlineStudio, MobileLife, DBS, Dissol, Hlakile, MJK, The Source, Townboy (always something to learn), Charmed, OS Giken, Wolfe (getting romantic), Mysehnsucht (how do you pronounce that?), Liquid Circle, Shiny, Redsaid and others I can't think of right now.
A few of you ladies and gents have such intense creativity that I imagine a totally separate section just for that. A sister-site to MyDL if possible :)
Alot of new citizens are also doing well in improving the standard and I also learn a thing or two from them that totally defeats my past blogging style. I guess setting too high a standard for one's writing is the wrong mind-set to begin with but learning and improving all the time is something I consider a bigger priority. I'd rather be blogging here than any other local blogging platform.
As Townboy always reminds us, "Writing Rocks!"... I also would add that if it isn't digital, its either analog or useless to me.
Have a happy weekend whilst I dust my pants off!
