How difficult is it to obtain a loan from Nedbank?

Quite difficult, believe me. Last week I went to the branch at the Wedge because the staff at Rivonia were tardy and very unco-operative in assissting to complete an application form.

I've been banking with Nedbank since late 1999, early 2000.

So, off to the Wedge I went. Within 3 minutes a staff memeber had acknowledge my presence and said that I would be his next client. I complimented him and said that he had done more for me in 30 seconds than his colleague at Rivonia in 5 minutes weedling his way out of work.

As he completed my application I provided everything he asked for, Green Bar Coded Identity Book, One month Bank statement, I gave him 3 and my last 10 payslips as I work freelance which constitutes roughly the last 3 months worked.
I asked for a private loan of 40 K and according to him and the info provided, his computer qualified me for 36 K.

On Thursday morning I received a call from his colleague who deals with personal loans. He sounded quite sceptical about me even getting the loan because of my "work style". On Friday however, while on tour, he phoned to tell me that my loan has been granted on the proviso that I provide them with the "Original Payslips".
These I brought to him on Wednesday and he was happy explaining that this is what "Dayton" wanted.

Today I received a call from Nedbank saying that they were still not satisfied with the new payslips which were accompanied with the Recon page from the Bank proving payment in my account. These documents were provided by one of 3 Companies that I do work for. Explaining to some unknown person that I am paid per assignment and I do not work Mondays to Fridays, 8 to 5 is beyond them. To that person I am not "permanently" employed. Yet more money flows into my account.

All this despite the letter of invitation to take out a loan from Nedbank. All you need is a Green Bar Coded Identity Document, Payslip to prove employment and one month Bank statement from your Bank. You do not have to be a Nedbank client to apply. And I bank with Nedbank!

The surprising thing is that more money runs through my account than their own salary. Worse than that is that my cellphone account and my rent are more than what they pay. Whats even more worse is that my phone is on a contract and I pay on average 2K every month without fail.

So tomorrow its off to FNB and Standard to see who gives the better service.

Looks like I'm not the only one to leave, Tourvest has gone over to FNB. Go figure.

One hears every day about Police being corrupt. Whose to blame? Us, we are. We pay them to turn a blind eye to our transgressions and then have the temerity to complain to the Autorities about our corrupt cops.

When you pay them a bribe, you are guilty of bribery and should be charged with corrupting the police. It takes two to tango.

When you are charged with corrupting and the Police person for taking said bribe and both parties sit in jail, you will realise your error. I reckon that this will go far in stamping out a Police persons extra curriclar pocket money.

So, think twice before lacing your Drivers License with a buffalo or two.

Where or how does one get their hands on the latest Blackberry Bold 9000? It appears that Blackberry make good phones and people are snowballing to get their hands on them.

I started 3 years ago with the 8100 Pearl and have progressed on to the 8310 Curve. Much to my delight I enjoy the Curve more the longer I use it. It out performs my mates phones and am the one to "Google requests" when information is required. Not to put a blindfold on I upgraded to a Samsung i900 Omnia. After a week it was back at the better connection awaiting the arrival of the Bold.

I'm sorry but the touch screen doesn't do it for me. I think it is more suited to a glitzy housewife or office person.

I was transfering a client to Sandton and both our phones gave the same alert. He had the Bold and said that he was very impressed with it. Even the youngsters are catching on to Blackberry in the UK. Free messenger and the colours are becoming quite funky, even pink for the girls.

I think Blackberry has really earned their good reputation.

Reading about the crisis in Zimbabwe is alarming. After the Salisbury Agreement which paved the way for Bob to become President of Zimbabwe the first dteps of the Meglomaniac were taken. The party that he leads had more than two-thirds majority and were thus able to rewrite their Constitution unopposed and created a one party State.

That is 4 wins out of 4 for the Sharks! I would like to see each beaten teams' flag with the bottom right hand corner imprinted with a shark's bite. The Sharks are the best South Africa has to offer.

Yep, everyone has had a say. The bottom line to all this clamour about Eskom is that they will never allow private industry to compete against them. With Eskom being funded by our money and backed up by Parly, what do you expect?

When you do an upgrade to Blackberry please ensure that you have apply for the Blackberry Service. I am at the better connection and  when doing the upgrade on Thursday the only thing that the Sales person made me aware of was the insurance rate.I was surprised to find out yesterday as I could not browse the Internet as per N80. You have to learn to type from scratch as the keyboard is "qwerty" style. Question, how do you turn predictive text off? Evry time while typing a word, predictive is shaping another below. Finding "Briberry" on Bluetooth will find me nearby. Have a great weekend. B.
