You haven't lived until you have taken a ride in a South African minibus taxi. Today I decided to take a taxi to work, well because of some economic reasons my car was not going to do the job. I traveled from Pretoria to Randburg on the R511. I figured that this is the only route taxis to Ranburg use since there were a hell of a lot of taxis on this particular road. It started off when I first had to catch a taxi from Sunnyside to Marabastad. Apparently that is the only place you will get taxis to Ranburg. I got to Marabastad at around 06:20 hoping to get a taxi at around that time because I ussually leave Pta at 06:30 to get to work at 08:00. Unfortunately I was not sufficiently informed about the whole process of getting on a taxi

As humans we are always complaining about the way things are in this world. The crime, the terrorism, the pollution and everything else that makes this world a bad place to live. We complain about how our leaders are letting us down with their decisions and how they are just not right for the job. It is all well and true that they are the ones who are suppossed to be leading us to a Utopian world. And it is true that they are doing a pretty pathetic job.

But what are you as an individual doing to better this world that you complain about everyday. You know if each one of us stopped complaining about everything and rather dedicated that energy into actually doing someting about whatever it is we see wrong then we would have less problems to worry about. How you run around complaining about the Ozone layer and then drive around in a car everyday. You complain about government's lack of services and yet you go against all the advise on how to conserve the basic services.

I think it is time we really take it upon ourselves as individuals to do something and not sit and whine as if whining can actually fix the problem. AMEN       

I am not proudly South African. I am a proud South African. How would I be expected to be proudly SA with the way things are going on in our country. Yesterday in the city centre of Jo'burg there was a mini massacre. I know I sound like an old record by writing about the crime situation in the country, but if we don't speak out no-one will take notice of the state of our country.
