The Razr Experience

My Razr and I are at that point of our relationship that can best be described as a cease-fire. I can use it well enough to get done what needs doing, but many of it's functions and settings are a complete mystery to me. I had made a deal with myself to learn one new thing each day, but that has been hard as I have been working 14 hour days the last few weeks. Basically doing what we all do; chasing the buck so I can eat.

An article by AznHun got me thinking about the early days of Google.

I have got to a strange impasse witth my Razr. I'm not sure if I have learnt the phone or if the phone has beaten me down.I suspect the latter. For one, there are still a whole pile of function I just don't understand.

One of the much anticipated events for Motorola Razr owners is the rollout of the Android 4.0 OS called "Ice Cream Sandwich". For the uninitiate (like me) the Samsung Galaxy SIII, now widely considered the kick-ass of Android smatphones, launched a few weeks back with ICS installed.  Not long before, (18 May in SA) Samsung Galaxy SII users had been able to change to ICS.

As I posted in Motorola Droid Razr: First steps the first thing I noticed was that my phone leaked data. In that case, the culprit was a YouTube app which I eventually found out how to disable (Motorola Razr: Setup contacts (and the youtube problem).

When I got it 2 years back my Samsung B2100 had a 4 day battery life even with regular calls. The truth is batteries wear out and need to be replaced. Recently, I was charging it every few hours. If I thought my new Razr was going to spare me the routine, I was sadly mistaken. Motorola recommends charging it every night and so far that has been exactly the way it works out.

I am suffering from a large amount of ambivalence towards the DT (see Motorola Razr: Setup contacts (and the youtube problem)). I just find something I like a lot and then it throws in something I hate. As I metioned before (Motorola Droid Razr: First steps) the startup screen never appeared and I was having a problem with starting some apps. eventually, more in frustration than anything else, i decided to reset to factory defualt and start again.

Before we continue me little adventure from before,  (Motorola Droid Razr: First steps) I have some general  observations (And no, I have yet to figure out how to turn off the Youtube).
