I have an apology to make. In my previous post I kept referring to the iPad 3. It turns out that it is in fact called "The new iPad". So I am sorry for not being attentive enough during the keynote. The ARM (Apple Rumour Mill) also got it wrong also going with iPad 3 with iPad 2S or iPad 2HD as fall back positions.

Just finished watching a live feed from the new iPad 3 announcement. I predict long queues soon at Apple stores around the globe. Unfortunately I won't be one of those. Not that the new iPad isn't exciting, but it is not enough of a mindshift to justify the expense of an upgrade.

Oh how we wait with bated breath for tomorrow's announcement. No. Not the latest hike in the petrol price. No. Not whether JM will be spared by his seniors. No. Definitely not whether the GOP candidate will be Mitt Romney or one of the other pathetic excuses for a politician. Yes. Whether tomorrow We will be excited by the announcement of a new iDevice, or disappointed by the announcement of a minor revamp to the iPad.

I have given up reading the rumour mill. They are invariably wrong, or cover their bases so much that they are right, but we are no better informed. So it is with the excitement that only fellow Apple freaks understand that I await the reports of the event. Only one thing is certain. What ever it is I am going to want one.

Ooops. Just seen my bank balance. Cheers. I am off to get a Lotto ticket....

Oh how we, not very patiently, awaited the arrival of the new iPhone. My 3GS was beginning to creak at the seams, but my iPhone 4 envy temporarily disappeared with the anticipation of a shiny new iPhone 5 to occupy my universe. I even boldly predicted the announcement to be made at the users conference, subconsciously believing that to wish it would make it happen.

I am sure that you tech savvy bloggers are already aware that many Apps are going free or are being heavily discounted for the Thanksgiving Weekend. I know it applies to Apple, but I am sure that Android and Windows users will find the same thing.

I recently downloaded a program (wanted to type App) called App Store Expense Monitor. The name says it all. It looks at all the apps you have downloaded into iTunes and works out how much you have spent. It tells me that I have spent around R2000 on apps.

Apple have just released and update to iOS 5 which takes care of the battery drain problems with the iPhone 4S and improves Siri's recognition of Australian accents, not that we are effected by any of this.

I recently watched a couple of YouTube videos showing how fun is being used to encourage people to do things they don't usually enjoy doing, The first one showed how they turned a used bottle depository into a game with lights and bells and whistles. The second one showed how they encouraged people to use the stairs rather than the escalators in a Metro by turning the steps into a fully functional giant piano keyboard.
