I'm not sure if we have a legislation in South Africa (WANS providers, Skype,Gtalk, VOIP etc. ) about making their services friendly for Wire-taping.  It looks to me that market in not quite regulated yet !!!

Nevertheless, Phil Zimmermann will discuss why easily wiretapped, unsecure VOIP is bad for society and good for organised crime, and how a secure VOIP protocol will protect the criminal justice system at Security Summit 2009 Vodadome, 26-28 May 2009

Black Hat founder and director, Jeff Moss, and White Hat founder, Jeremiah Grossman, will share their insights at ITWeb's fourth annual Security Summit, from 26 to 28 May, at Vodaworld.

Moss describes the Black Hat Briefings as being a series of highly technical information security conferences that bring together thought leaders from all facets of the information security world – from the corporate and government sectors, to academic and even underground researchers. He says the environment is strictly vendor-neutral and focused on the sharing of practical insights and timely, actionable knowledge.

Moss, who holds a BA in Criminal Justice, is also the founder of Defcon, the largest and best-known hacker conference in the world, which will this year run for the 17th time. Moss has worked for several top institutions, including the Secure Computing Corporation, where he helped establish the Professional Services Department in the US, Asia, and Australia.

Due to his experience and connections created by years at the intersection of network security and hacker ingenuity, Moss has been described as a “one-of-a-kind speaker" at any security event.

Well, well, well … You are not going to believe in this but somehow I’m back to lightning 3.5Mbs downloading speed. I don’t know how and I just hope that tonight’s thunderstorm is not going to spoil this experience. Usually cable trunks get flooded and   connections are not that great.

BTW, in order to test your speed ( actually speed of your internet connection ) goto www.speedtest.net, that is the most accurate, intuitive and graphically rich web based speed test. You can test your speed against server(s) in South Africa and internationally. At the moment there is only one server that you can use to test your speed against but hopefully in the near future when bandwidth pricing goes down you will be able to use some other servers link in Europe, UK, USA and the rest of the world.

In order to display blogs as subdomains you have to add wildcard entry into particular domain e.g. myblog.blog.something

  1. Right-click on the domain name in the list of domains and choose "New Domain".  Type in "*" (without the quotes, of course) in the pop-up box.
  2. Select the new sub-folder that was created, called *.
  3. Right-click it and choose "New Host".
  4. Enter the IP address to associate with the wildcard domain. Leave everything else blank.
