Samsung's second-generation Series 9 notebook, unveiled in January, is now available in SA.
The electronics company announced the availability of its Samsung Series 9 notebook, which eliminates the “unnecessary factors” in its predecessor, at various South African outlets this morning.
The Samsung Series 9 NP900X4D 15-inch-A01ZA is available at a recommended retail price of R14 999, while the NP900X3C 13-inch-A01ZA will retail at the recommended price of R15 999.
Both models are available at Samsung brand stores, including Clearwater Mall, in Johannesburg; Canal Walk, in Cape Town; Gateway shopping centre, in Umhlanga, as well as at The Digital Experience store, in Fourways (Johannesburg). The notebooks will be available in all premium IT retail stores shortly, says Samsung.
The Series 9 features Samsung's MaxScreen technology that minimises the bezel size, while maximising the screen size by an extra inch. Samsung says the 15-inch notebook is “the world's thinnest and most compact 15-inch premium notebook, compared to 15-inch laptops of other major manufacturers, as of March 2012. It features a 15-inch display fitted into a 14-inch chassis.”
The 15-inch model measures 14.9mm and weighs 1.59kg, while the new 13-inch Series 9 measures 12.9mm and weighs 1.16kg – 28% smaller than its predecessor.
The new Series 9 carries Samsung's anti-reflective LED display technology with a 400nit HD+ LED SuperBright display and Image Enhancer technology for indoor and outdoor use.
