South African bookstore chain Exclusive Books has launched a social selling platform for its website which is bound to paste “smileys” on the faces of all bookworms.
The Exclus1ves Stickers platform launches today, June 21, and will enable customers to peel some Rands from the prices of the some of the products – such as books, eBooks, games, DVDs and music – sold on the retailer’s website.
Referred to as “DIY Discounting”, the customers unlock discounts on the site by attaching some “smiley face” and other virtual activity stickers to the products. These smileys are a virtual currency and can be earned every time customers visit the site, rate products on the site, drag smileys and other stickers onto a product, and share a product on Twitter, Facebook and via email (sharing is reportedly limited to each platform once per day). Customers can earn a maximum of thirty Smiley Stickers per day.
“Stickers is a fun new way for our customers to find and share their favourite products, earn discounts through their activity, and team up with their friends to trigger terrific deals on millions of our [products],” reads a statement on the company’s blog.
You don’t have to be a member of Exclusive Books’ rewards programme “Fanatics” to enter, but members will earn rewards faster than non-members.
To find out exactly how the Stickers platform works and how discounts can be earned and redeemed, see this detailed explanation on the Exclus1ves blog.
