The ANC Youth League will send out daily updates via SMS to “stop media distortions”. The ANC Youth League officially introduced its own SMS alert service on Friday.

A statement from the ANCYL says: “The direct communication will stop the media distortions experienced in the past.”

Subscribers to the service will receive “daily political, organisational and political updates” [sic].

The ANCYL says it is proud of the new service, because it will provide direct communication with subscribers, which it says will be ANC/YL members, supporters and members of the media.

Subscribers will be charged R3 per week for the daily updates.

“All members, supporters, sympathisers and all South Africans interested in getting correct direct information and updates about the ANC Youth League are encouraged to subscribe.”

To subscribe, SMS your province-specific code to 37499. The codes are as follows:
