If you have ever harboured any secret fantasies about being a record-breaking 100 metre sprinter without actually breaking a sweat, you could soon have your dream realised.
On Saturday, April 23 (Easter weekend) at 8pm local time, Xbox LIVE wants all South African Xbox 360 players and Xbox LIVE members to join them and the rest of the world in an attempt to set a history-making Guinness World Record.
During that time, Microsoft is hoping that millions of Xbox LIVE members around the globe will virtually join hands and try to create a new record for ‘the largest online 100 metre sprint’ via Xbox LIVE and Kinect Sports. The event, called Xbox Nations, will be just one of the featured happenings in an entire fun-filled long weekend of activities that will kick off on Thursday, 21 April and last until Monday, 25 April 2011.
So even if you are an Xbox player with no virtually athletic aspirations to become an online track star, you will still be able to take advantage of a free Xbox LIVE Gold membership that will be offered to every local LIVE member during that entire weekend. This will enable them to participate in multiplayer gaming and allow them access to the latest content, among other cool things.
