Primi Piatti is one of those places where you basically know what you`re going to get in terms of food and it`s all good.
The Italian food is simple and portions are more than sufficient. On our numerous visits we have seen many a take-away box leave tables for the trip home. The Funghi Neri [Foongi-Neeri] pasta, with black mushrooms saut ed in butter, garlic, white wine, tomato, fresh basil and cream was mouth-watering. So was the home-made bread served with the meal. But of course we were there to test the WiFi hotspot, so we logged on with our brand-new account generously sponsored by Internet Solutions (IS). Over the steady 54bps connection, through a server in Johannesburg, we clocked a download speed of 0.64Mbps, which meant it took us about a minute to download a music track of about 5MB. Downloading a movie clip (32MB) took 6.5 minutes, so the experience was better than expected. The upload speeds were, as usual, not fantastic and we only got a speed of 0.21Mbps, so it took a while to get a pick-up on Facebook. All in all, with the good food, friendly and energetic waiters, lots of people-watching and an above-average web surfing session, it was a nice lunch.
