Core Group, distributor of Apple products locally, are challenging all South Africans to show what they love most about the country.
“There are so many reasons to feel good about South Africa. The rainbow nation is a truly hospitable nation, with diverse cultures and great pride in the country. As citizens we have the obligation of being ambassadors for our great nation and a responsibility to share our enthusiasm with the rest of the world,” says RJ van Spaandonk, executive director of the Core Group.
Individuals are invited to submit photos and personal videos that have been captured with their cellphones, cameras, iPhones and iPods. The idea is to have content arranged from A to Z, utilizing all 26 letters of the alphabet eg a could represent aloe, b for braai, c for Cape Town, etc.
“With this in mind and the world about to pay us a timely visit, the Core Group is embarking on a campaign ahead of 2010 called A to Z of ZA to collectively showcase the best to be seen and done in South Africa,” adds van Spaandonk.
Entrants are encouraged to use iPhoto to create their photo books and iMovie to edit their videos, which can be taken into any iStore, Digicape, Project 3 and selected Incredible Connection and Dion Wired stories countrywide. For those who do not have their own Macs, they can take their photos and videos to a participating store where staff will assist in creating your entry.
The A to Z of ZA campaign will run till June 2010 but phase one, which began in October, will end in December. 50 iPod nano’s are up for grabs for best photo book or video.
