MindTree unveils Bluetooth health device
MindTree has unveiled a Bluetooth health device solution on the Android platform, states TMCnet.
The solution provides seamless interoperability among personal healthcare devices enabling individuals to connect with their healthcare providers in real-time.
The device was demonstrated on the Google G1 Android Phone at the Continua Health Alliance Fall Summit held in Boston, MindTree sources said.
Video solution connects patients
Skylight Healthcare Systems has unveiled its iCareRounds, a full-featured video communications solution that links hospital patients to connected members of their care team, enabling virtual rounding right in the patient room at the push of a button, reports Reuters.
Engaging patients and families through a secure and private connection, iCareRounds allows all members of the care team to communicate and share relevant information with the patient from remote locations within or outside of the hospital.
iCareRounds integrates with Skylight Healthcare`s Access Interactive Patient Care System as well as the newly released iCarePassport.
E-health records privacy poor
The vast majority of healthcare organisations experienced at least one incident of lost or stolen electronic health information in the past year and 4% had more than five patient data breaches, according to a new survey by LogLogic and the Ponemon Institute, says eWeek.
Of the 80% that reported a data breach, more than two-thirds of the organisations had already digitised at least a quarter of their patient records and a third had digitised more than half.
In addition to the privacy breaches, the survey revealed that IT practitioners don`t believe they have management support to protect patient privacy as a priority, with 70% saying senior management does not view privacy and data security as a priority.
